The deadline to sign up is Tuesday March 31, 2026.
Solo & Ensemble Festival is a laid-back opportunity for students to work on and perform solo and/or ensemble music for judges to receive a rating and potentially a medal.
The event is at Central Baldwin Middle School (located in Loxely near Robertsdale, about 30 minutes away) on Saturday May 2; transportation to and from the festival is NOT provided.
Students may perform in up to four events, but no student may do more than one solo per instrument; no music has to be memorized. There are no specified music requirements other than each piece must be under 5 minutes long. Mr. White has a suggested list for those who need help picking music. Ensembles do not have to be a "normal" combination of instruments and you are not required to only perform on your primary instrument (for example: last year, Korwin did a solo on alto sax AND a solo on flute).
There is NO FEE for students to audition and anyone in Band may participate; there is a $5 "no show" fee for those who sign up but do not attend.
